The older I get the more I tend to here the words, “don’t you think you are a little too old for that sort of stuff”. Most of the time I’m happy to answer with a resounding NO. Okay, so maybe there are times when the answer should be Yes, but not very often…

This weekend a group of lads who should know better had a great time celebrating Martyn Roberts 39th birthday. The main purpose of the weekend, apart from wishing Martyn a happy birthday was to hurtle down hills at break neck speed, hit massive jumps and be awesome.

THIS DID NOT HAPPEN…Falling off happened, going over handle bars happened, nearly breaking bones happened, massive bruises happened and breaking stuff happened.

And so I ask the question whether I should stop doing “Stuff” which allegedly I am too old for and ultimately ends up with me or my friends getting badly hurt? The adventure, friendships, huge amounts of laughter and great stories we get from these trips will always make the question easy to answer with a big NO. I think Mark Twain sums it up perfectly…“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

Why don’t you make 2015 the year you start your adventure…
